Fun!

Just some random pictures of fun around the house, including Wacky Wednesday at school (mohawks), Jake in his fireman's gear, the boys with the dogs, and a glimpse into what our rec room looks like on any given day!

Easter!

We had a great Easter with friends and family. Paul and I took the boys to the Ringling Brothers Circus at the Patriot Center and then we headed to Oma and Pa's (Paul's parents) for an easter egg hunt and dinner. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we hung outside all afternoon while we watched Paul and Jake assemble his tent/tunnel/clubhouse combo! Jake definitely understood the concept of looking for eggs a bit more this year and was super excited about his easter basket. Josh thought the grass in his easter basket was pretty darn awesome!

The Great Green Taste Test

Everyone will be thrilled to know that Jake was the only kid in his class that had smiley faces for all of the green foods that they tried during the great Green Taste Test (St. Patrick's Day week -- theme was "the color green"). That means he is the only kid in his class who LIKED all of the green foods...

The green foods included:
  • broccoli
  • cucumbers
  • green beans
  • green apples
  • grapes
  • melon

Have I mentioned how much the kid loves salad too?!? At least one of my kids likes fruits and veggies. Josh is a meat, potatoes, and cheese kind of guy :-)

Vermont 2010!

Our family had a great time in Killington, VT! Next time we hope to stay longer and we will definitely be getting Jake strapped in skis to go down a mountain!

Thursday was spent driving... we left around 8am and got to the Grey Bonnet Inn around 8pm. I fell asleep shortly after unpacking along with the boys. Jake & Josh were such great troopers on the way up!

On Friday, I took Jake to Pico Mountain to watch Daddy ski. We let him ski with Paul, Pa, G, and Ally and boy did he love it. He was fascinated with trying to get on the ski lift. He will be sooooo ready to go next winter. That night, Paul and I enjoyed a date night out at The Grist Mill. (Been a long time since we had one of those!)

Saturday we enjoyed the indoors and I went for a full body massage while Paul skied at Killington. That evening we drove about an hour to Norwich University to watch the quarter final ice hockey game. What an amazing game! The other team was leading 1-0 until 45 seconds left when Norwich scored to tie it up. Then Norwich scored the winning goal about 2 minutes into OT. Amazing!

Sunday was a looooooong ride home. The boys weren't too excited about sitting in the car for that long again. (Can't say I blame them!) Josh, especially, didn't understand why we couldn't take him out of his seat and hold him. With a lot of entertainment from G and the DVD player (thank goodness!), we managed to make it home with most of our sanity!

Pictures of our awesome trip are below! (Paul has some great ones from on top of the mountain.... will steal from him and post soon!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Jake and Josh had St. Patrick's Day parties at school with all green themed activities and food. Of course they dressed for the occasion as well!

Josh captured on camera with one of his usual huge smiles!! (And partaking in one of his favorite activities -- eating!)
